The Robber

As the sun shone into Kalani’s eyes stretched her legs and slowly sat up straight on her bed. Sleepily, she walked over to the window and peered outside. It seemed to have rained last night and she hadn’t noticed, until now. The dew on the plants still dripped from hanging leaves and the birds were somehow drinking the dew that was dripping.

She slipped on a coat and went downstairs for breakfast. Her house was like a mansion as it was three stories high. The First floor was the family rooms and the dining room. The second floor was her territory and the third floor was her parent’s territory. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lore and they were huge business company owners. She had always had butlers and maids on her side telling her what to do and when to do it, and she was tired of it.

Her parents seemed to have ignored her and were too busy doing their work and travelling to different places, without her. She would try to tell her parents about what happened at school every day, but they would just leave the table and get back to work. Her friends never played with her because they thought she was too pampered and spoilt.

She was tired of being in the shadows and not being noticed, in her own house. So she created a plan for herself, to escape……

The next evening, she began packing the items for her journey. Soon in the night she slipped on her coat and shoes and sneaked out of the house. It was hard but she did it. She was a genius as her plan had succeeded and was very relieved to be out in the open. The fresh air surrounded her and the smell of freedom filled her nose. Then, she ran off into the street and set her bag down onto the stone ground, which was dusty, brown and hard. She made sure she was not seen and could not be found.

The morning came and she felt a tingling sensation in her spine. Suddenly, she felt a jolt which started to hurt and pain her. She instantly jumped up and shook of the pain. Then she picked up her bag, looked at her home once again and took off.

Days went by, and she had no clue on what to do. She was lonely. No one searched for her, she had no friends and was filthy. Then, her feelings took over and she started venting her feelings through robbing. It was the first time she did anything; I mean anything, at all.

The first house she robbed was not very special. Then, she made a plan to rob a four star home. Even though it was not so beautiful on the outside there were golden statues and jewels. It was a grand home. That night, she sneaked into the house and packed her bag full of the riches, but on the way out she bumped into a few other people. They did not scream for help or run away, but they asked her to follow them.
As she walked behind them she noticed that two of them had their hair in buns, which meant that they were girls. They soon entered a wooden house which was old and broken. Half the house was shattered and open and the other half seemed to be stable.

All of them sat down in what seemed to be a living room as it had a couch and a small black table in the center.  She also sat down but she kept her eyes on them, in case they were tricking her.  But they just watched her. Finally, they removed their masks.

“What is your name?” One of the boys asked.

“Kalani” she answered. “What is yours?”

One of the girls answered this time. “I’m Jane, this is Nrat” she pointed towards a boy with red spikey hair and green eyes.

“That is Tara, and that is Banner” she pointed towards a girl and boy with black hair and blue eyes.

The night carried on and Kalani had started to open up with them. She told them about how she got there and why she did it. They told her about how all their families gave them away to an orphanage and how they escaped from it.

Soon, they started robbing together. The houses they looted were vintage and had antique jewelry and statues. They started piling up all that they had collected in the dining room and it went on till the bedroom. They stole beautiful dresses for the girls and handsome suits for the boys (although they didn’t fit them).

Then, Kalani made a plan to rob her own house. She wanted to teach her parents a lesson. A lesson to not ignore her. So the robbers were on the move. They had put a lot of thought into this robbery and it was well planned. They sneaked through the gates and into the yard. It was huge. Kalani, Nrat and Tara scaled the wall and entered from a window which was always open. Meanwhile, Banner and Jane unlocked the front door and tippy toed upstairs.

Their bags were full in about two minutes and they were ready to leave the ransacked home. But to their surprise Kalani’s dad was standing in the doorway blocking their way out. “Mee ohhh! Mee ohhh!” The police cars were parked outside and were ready to take them away. They were caught red handed.  The police handcuffed them and seated them in the car when gas blurred the officer’s view. Kalani and the others jumped out of the cars grabbed the keys to their cuffs and ran away.

“That was close!” all of them landed on the bed with a big “Thump!”

As soon as the morning came, Kalani purposefully woke up before the rest of them. She stayed up all night thinking about her parents and how she left them. Later in the day, Kalani started feeling guilty. Then, at exactly 3:12pm (as she knew that that was the time her parents were free) she called her home and talked to her parents. As they talked they started bonding. Then, her parents said “Please forgive us dear, we have always loved you and we always will. So Kalani did.

But she only would if they got her a five star home for her friends to stay. They agreed and disconnected the phone. Kalani ran into the living room and broke the news to her friends. Before going, they had to return all the items they had stolen. Soon, they were off to Kalani’s house.

As they entered the house Kalani’s parents hugged her tight and kissed her a ton of times before letting go. They introduced themselves and showed Nrat, Jane, Tara and Banner where they were going to stay and live.
They were all a big, happy family!
The End
